How Does It Work?
Using EMS (electromyostimulation), the device sends a natural impulse to your muscles and gets a contraction in response. This technology is used everyday by physios and rehab centres.
Is It Scientifically Proven?

Is It Painful?
No, miha bodytec works with low impulse frequency and our muscles do not differentiate between a natural impulse from the brain or an external impulse via an electrode.
How quickly will I see results?
You’ll feel a difference after your first EMS training session. As your body releases endorphins and as most major muscle groups in your body have been activated, you will experience increased physical awareness, resulting in an improved posture. After a day or two, you’ll feel some muscle stiffness, which is normal and is indicative of your body’s recovery process. Within a period of about 4 weeks, you’ll feel stronger and different muscles will improve to coordinate movements more effectively.

After roughly 6 to 8 weeks you will not only feel, but also see a visible difference from the EMS training in the form of gradually increased muscle formation and a possible reduction in body fat (depending on your diet). As with conventional training, EMS training should be done regularly to ensure and maintain optimal results.

Please note: In order to achieve the best results it is strongly recommended that you complete 2 sessions per week!

I am an amateur or pro athlete! - Can EMS help me?
EMS training offers a great opportunity to improve the athlete’s condition whilst taking into account functional aspects. In this case the focus should not be technical training. This is the technical trainers job and as far as possible should be carried out under real-life condition for that particular sport.

EMS training can be transferred to sport-specific movements and simultaneously have a positive influence on strength development. If strength training is done with sports equipment and the accompanying exercises then it is more demanding.

Stability and mobility are also an important for athletes as well as increasing strength. These 2 factors are the foundations for almost all athletes both from a preventative point as well as a more functional cycle of movement.

What effects have been proven in studies?

In addition to the proven improvements in strength and muscle building, the results are particularly interesting in terms of improvements in maximum strength and high speed strength, the important components in maximum performance:

  • In professional athletes an average muscle growth of 4cm was measured over the entire body – significantly more than achieved with conventional methods;
  •  Whole body EMS increased the maximum performance (product of speed of movement and strength) of athletes of up to 30% in sport studies;
  • The long term effects are particularly impressive: increase in speed were recorded up to 3 weeks after the last training session.
  • Compared to other high-speed strength methods, EMS training is the only training method that results in an increase in maximum performance – while typical high-speed strength and maximum strength methods only achieve increase during the strength units, combined with higher mechanical load.
  • The speed of the contractions in the muscles increased by an average of 22% after 8 training units. The maximum performance of the abdominal muscles that are important for almost all kind of sport can be increased by around 67%;
  • The explosive power of the hard to train core muscles was improved by up to 74%.
  • The CK values were used as a measurement for intensity and were approx. 40% higher after whole body EMS training than in conventional training – often a crucial factor in building up muscle mass and according to many experts the sign of an effective training session!
